WINSTON TITE SCULPTURE

COMMISSIONED SCULPTURES

Inflection/Deflection

Concourse A, Charlotte/Douglas International Airport,

Charlotte, North Carolina

Inflection/Deflection is a very large steel sculpture consisting of two segments interacting with the wall and ceiling of the concourse.  It is conceptually about exploration and investigation through travel and experiences; it is most literally about a playful line traveling along the concourse’s interior space, deflecting off the ceiling, walls and baffles while exploring these various architectural elements.  The work was commissioned by the Airport Authority, City of Charlotte, for temporary exhibition in Concourse A and was on exhibit for one year.
